Now, normally, we're pretty baller at getting lyrics right. Lately, however, our country music lyrical genius has not been up to par.
a few days ago, hannah and i were enjoying our daily morning jump start of cmt music videos. red light by david nail (which, i would like to point out, as i mentioned this song just now, i searched for it on my itunes and began to play it....for inspiration.) came on (recap-red light. david nail. came on. cmt). I was singing it and it got to the chorus and i pretty much yelled
AT A RED LIGHT AND A STOP SIGN ON A SUNDAY NOTHING TO SAY...
then i paused and said...wait...red light...stop sign...nonsense.
hannah corrected me and we continued with our lives. Tonight, in the car, on the way home from walgreens (where we bought umbrellas! BECAUSE WE WERE DYING IN THE FLOOD AND RAIN) "cryin for me" by...toby keith, we decided, came on. hannah was singing along correctly, then suddenly said
"...so play your upside down, left-handed, backwards baseball cap" (YEAH. SHE SAID BASEBALL CAP.) instead of the correct lyrics (which are "bass guitar.").
it was pretty epic.
we are now currently studying for class tomorrow. we are kind of hopeful that we don't have class tomorrow, however, due to flooding. We are listening to the light pitter-patter of rain become beating, murderous, noisy drops of death. We are fearing for our lives. We can't exactly see outside our window (reference: outside my windowwwww)(thats a song), but we have estimated that the parking lot is flooded up to at least the first floor by now. making the only way we can get to class would be by swimming tomorrow. sorry winthrop, i left my bathing suit at home.
hannah and i keep looking at our window because it is making scary creeper like noises. like someone is tapping on it. not like the romantic, rock throwing, sing a song if you open the window kind of tapping, but like the creepy, freddy cruger (spell check!), im gonna get cha! kind of tapping. like the im real mad and im about to break into your dorm with a candlestick tapping.
we are listening to fat bottomed girls. it makes me proud to have a booty. what what. rockin everywhere. you know. legit-like.
lee wicker 209 is not too festive right now, as we are deep in study and fear of rain-like death. hannah wants to inform all math 150 students that 45 in section 3.4 is true. in case anyone couldn't get that one. she got it. she got it.
well, maribea is rushing me to post this award-winning (or what should be) blog. so, i guess i'm out for the night. good evening to all.
er....morning, ive been informed.
until next time....
ps-THEN SINGS MY SOULLLLLLLL...hahaah.
hahahahahaha. this is quite possibly the best thing I've ever read. As I was reading this, I was looking at country songs with romantic lyrics for inspiration for a novel I am writing. So I really appreciate your taste for music even more. :D <3
